Ending 2024 welcome 2025

Reflecting on My Candle Business Journey: Highs and Lows of 2024

As the year comes to an end, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the growth, challenges, and lessons from 2024 in my candle business journey. This year was filled with highs that reminded me why I started Queendom’s Candles and lows that pushed me to grow stronger. Here’s a look back at my year in business.

The Highs of 2024

1. Opening My TikTok Shop

In January, I ventured into the world of TikTok shopping, and the results were beyond what I expected. My shop launched with a bang, receiving over 50 orders in its first month! This not only boosted my sales but also helped me grow my online following. To connect even more with my audience, I started giving away products to people around the world—a decision that helped build brand loyalty and spread the word about Queendom’s Candles.

2. Expanding My Reach

I was thrilled to see my candles reaching new heights. Wholesale orders were shipped to different states, and I even saw sales coming through my Etsy shop! The consistent traffic to my website also showed me that more people were discovering and loving my brand.

3. Product Innovation

One of my proudest achievements this year was creating new items that turned out to be a hit with customers. Listening to feedback and experimenting with fresh ideas paid off in a big way.

4. Personal Growth and Financial Milestones

To improve as a business owner, I read numerous business books and applied for various grants to support my goals. One major milestone was receiving my first business loan through Shopify, which gave me the resources to invest in my dream.

5. Staying Connected Through Pop-Up Shops

Throughout 2024, I remained consistent with pop-up shops. These events allowed me to meet customers face-to-face, share my story, and see firsthand how much people appreciate my candles.

The Lows and Lessons Learned

1. The Small Warehouse Setback

In February, I took a bold step and opened a small warehouse. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as planned. While it was disappointing, I refused to let it define my year. Instead, I adapted by setting up a small workspace in my apartment, which turned out to be a more cost-effective and productive solution.

2. Losing My Job

In November, I lost my job—a moment that could have been devastating. However, I chose to see it as an opportunity to pour even more energy into my business. Losing my job gave me the time and focus I needed to take Queendom’s Candles to the next level.

3. Room for Website Growth

Although my website saw a lot of traffic, I know there’s still room for improvement. This year, I’ve taken note of ways to enhance the customer experience, streamline navigation, and optimize for conversions.

The Biggest Lesson of 2024

This year taught me that failure isn’t the end—it’s part of the journey. Every setback I faced became an opportunity to learn and grow. From the warehouse challenge to personal sacrifices, I’ve learned to adapt, pivot, and stay resilient.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As I step into 2025, I’m entering the year with more clarity, determination, and a solid plan to build on this year’s successes. My focus will be on expanding my product line, reaching new customers, and continuing to improve my business strategies. Most importantly, I’m taking the lessons from 2024 to make Queendom’s Candles bigger and better than ever.

Thank you to everyone who supported my journey this year—whether you placed an order, visited a pop-up shop, or shared my business with a friend. Here’s to more growth, creativity, and success in the year ahead!
